DEXA Scan

A DEXA scan (dual energy X-ray absorptiometry) is a low dose imaging test that measures bone density and body composition, including how much lean muscle and fat tissue a person carries and where it is distributed.

In weight management, DEXA provides a far more accurate baseline than scales or BMI alone, because it shows whether changes come from fat or muscle. Doctors can refer patients to imaging providers across Australia, and results feed into a personalised metabolic health plan.
